Anafi, the island

Anafi is a little Greek island, with a few inhabitants, located a few miles away from Santorini in the east. Belongs to Cyclades island complex covering an area of about 38 square kilometers. It is said (mythology) that Anafi raised by the sea after Apollo' s orders to provide shelter to Argonauts in a moment of danger.

Chora, the capital village of the island, lies on a mountain ridge providing spectacular view to the Aegean Sea. It is built on the ruins of the old Venetian castle. Chora is the most unspoilt village of all among the Greek islands, following the authentic traditional rythm of the Aegean. White houses with blue windows and doors, narrow stone paved streets dominates the scenary. You will find here a few tavernas and cafe, bakery, small shops and post office.

The island is almost intact from human activities making it ideal for people who love camping and nature. You will be able to explore plethora of interesting places such as crystal water beaches, traditional villages, ancient ruins, footpaths, old monasteries and many more.
